Wesley Lackey, MD is a board-certified hip and knee replacement surgeon who performs hundreds of joint replacements annually, and over 80% of those are in the outpatient setting. He recently completed his training to perform the Jiffy Knee™ and can perform an outpatient Jiffy Knee™ replacement for any patients who qualify.
What is the Jiffy Knee™?
The Jiffy Knee is a complete muscle- and tendon-sparing knee replacement. In a traditional total knee replacement, the surgeon cuts through the joint’s muscles and tendons during the surgical exposure. In a Jiffy Knee™ replacement, the surgeon “lifts” the muscles and tendons instead of cutting them. This preserves the soft tissue of your muscles and tendons, which makes for a less traumatic procedure.
Because of this, the Jiffy Knee™ provides patients with a faster recovery and minimal trauma to your joint. Patients are up and walking within hours of surgery.
