Foot and Ankle FAQ
What are my treatment options?
Many common podiatry issues are because of deformities like bunions, heel spurs, ingrown toenails, and neuromas. These issues can typically be treated in-office and managed with proper DMEs such as walking boots, splints, and orthotics.
Other podiatry issues stem from overuse or trauma injuries such as sprains, strains, ligament tears, which can also often be managed in-office with proper follow-up care. However, should you need surgery, our surgeons are specialists in complex surgical foot and ankle reconstruction, repair, and replacement.
How will I know if I need surgery?
Foot and ankle surgery is often considered after conservative, non-surgical treatments have not worked; if pain is severely limiting daily function; if deformities are progressing; or if x-ray/MRI imaging shows significant arthritic damage. Our surgeons will evaluate your issue, order proper imaging, and consult you to talk about the best treatment options to get you back to health.
