Medical Missions: MCJR Around the Globe
Our Dedication to Serving Others Extends Far Beyond Our Doors.
One thing that makes the team at Midwest Center for Joint Replacement unique is our dedication to serving others, both locally and internationally. Our surgeons and nursing staff enjoy using their surgical expertise to serve those who have little to no access to care. Every year, at least one team of medical professionals travels internationally to provide free healthcare and services to some of the least of these.
People. Helping. People.
Whether caring for patients in Indiana or serving communities across the globe, the Midwest Center for Joint Replacement team is united by a shared commitment to compassion and service. These experiences are part of the larger Stories of Healing that define who we are — in and beyond the operating room.
MCJR Joins Forces with Team Hope In Motion
Antigua, Guatemala
The MCJR team partners with the not-for-profit medical services organization Team Hope in Motion. Team HIM provides free surgical treatment for patients in Antigua, Guatemala through Faith in Practice. These patients suffer from debilitating bone and joint conditions, many from birth or decades-long injuries, and do not have access to medical care.
One week a year, our surgeon teams go to Guatemala and perform dozens of free joint replacements for those in need. Our teams view these trips as some of the most fulfilling weeks of their lives.
